ABOUT

Cathy spent over two decades in Silicon Valley in roles ranging from PR and content curation to high-end influencer outreach, working with companies such as Nokia, Intel, LeWeb, and Guidewire Group. In 2008 after engaging as an LGBT activist, Cathy began exploring how personal stories impact people’s professional lives.

Four years later she turned that on herself, and everything changed.

After a conversation with Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, Cathy found herself in Las Vegas, NV exploring his project to revitalize the downtown core. While there, serendipity led to her proposing a business to Tony’s team.

Six months later, Cathy closed her consulting practice and headed to Las Vegas to start The Hydrant Club, an educational facility and private club catering to the needs of an urban dog community.

Eschewing the label of “dog whisperer”, Cathy prefers to call herself a “canine counselor”. She applies her lifetime as a communications professional and student of canine behavior to facilitate better communication between dogs and their humans.

In addition to The Hydrant Club, Cathy also returned to another life-long passion, voiceover work. Her professional studio, Whispering Dog Communications, delivers high-end voiceover content for any format from commercial and corporate and everything in between.
